Is quarantine or isolation an official excuse to miss class? Will the UC COVID Check Response Team reach out to my professors?

It is an excuse to miss an in-person class only, as you will not be allowed to go to campus. We encourage you to reach out to your professors individually and attempt to access the class virtually or to make up any classwork you might miss.

The UC COVID Check Response Team will not email your professors automatically, but feel free to forward any correspondence to your professors confirming that we have asked you to quarantine or isolate.

If I need mental health and wellness support while in quarantine and isolation, what do I do?

The UC CAREs Team will be reaching out to all students in quarantine or isolation several times.

If you have not been contacted and would like to be urgently, please let the Contact Tracer handling your case know and they will make sure that you are contacted that day by a member of the CAREs Team. Also, if you are unsure of who to contact, but you know that you need help, please email UCCOVIDCheck@mail.uc.edu.

For more information of mental health and wellness information visit this link.

Are there any resources for fighting stigmatization, bias, and xenophophobia related to the COVID-19 virus?

UC’s Blue Ash Campus has put together several resources to address this and are also open to feedback.

When will I know if my classes will be online or remote?

This is still being determined and for now is on a class-by-class basis. The UC COVID Check Response Team does not have more information than what is already being provided by the University.

Please refer to any communication by UC’s President Pinto as well as checking your schedule in Catalyst for the most up to date information. Your professors might also provide you with that information.

What if I am non-compliant with campus policies (e.g., masks, testing, symptom checking, gatherings) related to COVID-19?

It is important that students follow all campus policies related to COVID-19 so we can keep our Bearcat community safe. Students who are non-compliant will be referred to Student Affairs.
