Business Courier: Alumnus donates to UC
Following a gift from a University of Cincinnati alumnus, the Carl H. Lindner College of Business' Center for Professional Selling is being renamed the Grau Center for Professional Selling, the Cincinnati Business Courier reported.
Jim Grau, a 1973 UC graduate, donated to the College of Business and UC Athletics. Now retired, Grau was president and CEO of Cross Match Technologies, a biometric identity firm.
“It is not an overstatement to say that I would not have the career and the life that I have if it were not for the education and experience I had at UC,” he said.
The donation also will help create the Grau Family Lindner Business Honors Endowment Fund to help Moeller High School graduates and other students with financial need who are enrolled in the Lindner Business Honors program.
“Our students are amazing,” said Jennifer Barlow, executive director of external affairs for the Grau Center for Professional Selling. “They are driven and hard-working, and Jim's remarkable gift will help more students develop sales skills through real-word experiences.”
