UC grad wins fitness prize in Miss America prelims
University of Cincinnati graduate Stephanie Finoti was one of three winners in a preliminary competition in the Miss America scholarship pageant this week, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
Finoti in December earned a bachelor's degree in biomedical science from UC's College of Arts and Sciences.
This week she won the fitness competition and will compete in the talent portion of the competition today. The finals are 7 p.m. Sunday in Orlando, Florida. The competition will be livestreamed on YouTube.
Finoti represents Ohio in the competition, the world's largest scholarship program for women.
Finoti said her time at UC reinforced her skills and poise to be confident on stage. She won preliminary competitions in talent and fitness during the Miss Ohio scholarship pageant.
“UC was instrumental in preparing me for the competition,” she said.
Finoti plans to pursue a career in medicine.
