Cincy Bearcat crowned national champion for third time
ORLANDO – The Cincy Bearcat was crowned the National Champion this past weekend at the 2025 College Cheerleading and Dance National Championship at ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex.
It is Bearcat's third national championship in the last four years, having previously grabbed the top spot in 2022 and 2023.
In addition to the Bearcat's victory, the Cincinnati cheerleading and dance teams also placed high at the event.
The UC cheerleading team finished 11th in traditional and sixth in game day.
The dance team placed fifth in hip hop, fourth in pom and third in game day.
Director of Spirit Programs Tabby Fagan, mascot coach Chris Helmers, dance coaches Courtney Dang, Rachel Reese, and Stephanie Rogers, and cheer coaches Tim Murphy, Johnny Downey and Christian Vias led the choreography and traveled to the event with the student-athletes.
