Carson Field is within the historic Nippert Stadium at the University of Cincinnati. The field is named after Arch Carson, who played a large role in bringing football to UC in 1885 and to the field’s construction in 1901.
Nippert Stadium has been home to Bearcat football since 1902, making it the fourth-oldest playing site and fifth-oldest stadium in college football. Early-century brickwork combined with wrought-iron gates and trim give Nippert a comfortable old-time stadium charm and appeal, while continuing renovations have enabled it to remain a classic showplace for college football. Since 2004, improvements have included new permanent grandstands, a video board and a FieldTurf playing surface.
