UC Real Estate Center event offers perspective on local, national and global economic issues
Hosted by the University of Cincinnati's Real Estate Center and PNC Bank, the 31st annual UC/PNC Economic Outlook welcomed more than 300 attendees to The Westin Cincinnati’s Presidential Ballroom on Feb. 14.
In the crowd were current Lindner students, faculty and staff; local and regional real estate professionals; and Real Estate Center advocates and supporters. Attendees received insight on local, national and international economic and geopolitical developments from the event’s two keynote speakers: Stuart Hoffman, MS ’73, PhD ’75, senior economic adviser, PNC Financial Services Group, and Greg Valliere, chief U.S. policy strategist, AGF Investments.
Real Estate Center Executive Director Carl Goertemoeller opened the program by expressing gratitude to the center’s individual and organizational champions.

Goertemoeller specifically thanked PNC, the center’s premier partner, Eagle Realty Group (platinum partner) and six gold partners: Brandicorp, Hills Properties, Kroger, Neyer Properties, North American Properties/Last Mile, and Procter & Gamble.
Warren Weber, PNC Bank Regional President, Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, stepped up to the podium next and cited both Lindner’s commitment to experiential learning and the success of PNC’s longtime co-op program.
“The students and PNC benefit from an eight-to-12-week mutual interview. The student gathers life skills to supplement the knowledge they gain in the classroom. They affirm their decision that banking is a career they want to pursue and whether PNC is the right place for them. At PNC, we have a chance to get high-quality work and see whether a prospective employee can be successful and fulfilled at our company. It’s a win-win.”

Weber closed by introducing Hoffman and Valliere, two good friends and the event’s longtime keynote speakers. Hoffman shepherded the crowd through PNC’s 2025 economic forecast. Valliere followed with perspective on national and international geopolitical topics and current events.
The program concluded with Hoffman and Valliere joined onstage by Goertemoeller and Gary Painter, PhD, BEARE Chair and Professor of Real Estate, for Q&A with the audience.
