Crosley tower stands sixteen stories tall, housing seminar rooms, graduate research facilities, faculty offices, and a science library. It's a "totem" of the University and its iconic Brutalist architecture style can be recognized from miles away.

Crosley Tower, orginially referred to as the Powel Crosley Jr. Research Tower, was erected in 1969. The 16-story concrete pillar is a distinguishing feature of UC's campus. Powel Crosley Jr., a UC alumnus, was an entrepreneur and inventor who previously owned the Cincinnati Reds and 700 WLW. The tower honors him and his family.

The 16-story building is crafted from a single pour of concrete, the 2nd largest single-pour cement structure behind the Hoover Dam. Although there are rumors of the tower slipping downhill, there are no similarities to the Leaning Tower of Pisa and Crosley Tower.

Although rumors say this was the architect's mistake, the building was designed to have restrooms located in the stairwells. They believed the stairwells had better ventilation, conduits, and plumbing.
