What symptoms might indicate COVID-19?
If you have one of the following major symptoms:
- new cough
- shortness of breath
- difficulty breathing
- loss of smell
- loss of taste
- subjective or measured fever of 100.4 F
- myalgias or body aches
- Chills
- Rigors
- Headache
- nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Fatigue
- congestion or runny nose
What do I do if I have symptoms of COVID-19/tested positive for COVID-19?
If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have tested positive for COVID-19, please begin a self-isolation. Stay home and stay at least 6 feet away from others. Report these symptoms or test result in the UC COVID Check App, even if you are not going to campus. This way a Contact Tracer will be able to contact you, provide you resources, next steps, and connect you with a nurse if necessary.
Should I get tested if I have COVID-19 like symptoms?
Yes, we recommend you get tested as soon as possible if you have symptoms.
What counts as an exposure to COVID-19?
An exposure is when you have been in close contact with someone who has symptoms of COVID-19 or who tested positive for COVID-19 up to two days prior to the symptom onset or date of positive test, and up to ten days after.
Close contact is defined as being within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period (for example, three individual 5-minute exposures for a total of 15 minutes in one day).

Should I get tested if I have knowingly been exposed to someone with COVID-19?
Yes, we recommend you get tested on the fifth day after your last exposure of that individual. If you develop any symptoms, you should get tested as soon as possible.
Is testing required if I have symptoms or have been exposed?
Testing is not required for individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19 or who have been exposed to COVID-19. However, it is strongly recommended. Please note that testing may be required in other scenarios such as UC’s Strategic Mitigation testing.
Where do I go if I have any questions? Who is my point of contact?
A Contact Tracer employed by UC will be your point of contact. They should call you shortly after your name has come into our system and give you next steps. If you do not have a red pass and have questions, please use the following resources:
